About the Role
As a Customer Engineer at arenaflex, you'll work cross-functionally to introduce our cloud platform to potential and existing customers. You'll help organizations understand the power of arenaflex Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions, and problem-solve any technical challenges they face. This role sits at the intersection of sales, technical implementation, and customer success—making it an ideal position for those who enjoy variety and continuous learning.
You'll be part of a specialized team of Customer Engineers who are called upon by field sales representatives and other Customer Engineers to support customer-facing engagements where deep platform expertise is essential for advancing customer opportunities. Key Responsibilities
- Drive Business Growth: Support local sales teams in pursuing key business opportunities by engaging clients to address aspects of the information lifecycle and cloud transformation journey.
- Requirements Discovery & Solution Design: Identify business and technical requirements, conduct comprehensive technical discovery sessions, and architect customer solutions that precisely meet gathered requirements while aligning with industry best practices.
- Technical Project Leadership: Lead technical projects including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, creating product and solution briefings, executing proof-of-concept work, and coordinating supporting technical resources.
- Solution Implementation: Work directly with arenaflex Cloud Platform products to illustrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments, demonstrating the full capabilities of our technology.
- Client Engagement: Travel to client locations for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite deployment activities as needed to ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction.
- Technical Messaging: Prepare and deliver compelling product messaging that highlights the arenaflex Cloud Platform value proposition through various methods including whiteboard presentations, slide shows, product demonstrations, white papers, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and contribute to product improvements based on customer feedback.
- Sales Engineering Support: Assist fellow sales team members by problem-solving key technical challenges for our customers, ensuring seamless collaboration between sales and technical functions.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; OR equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong technical competencies.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Representative, Technical Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or in a customer-facing technical position.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience with traditional analytic warehouse solutions, Big Data technologies, real-time streaming, performance optimization, or scalability enhancements.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to quickly understand complex technical environments and identify optimal solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Data Platform Experience: Extensive experience developing data warehousing solutions, data lakes, batch or real-time event processing systems, and complex ETL workflow solutions.
- Data Management Expertise: Deep understanding of data and data management as it pertains to Big Data characteristics and challenges within enterprise organizations.
- AI/ML Capabilities: Experience handling AI/ML and ML Operations issues as part of the data analytics platform and lifecycle.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly research, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions within the cloud and IT industry space.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with enterprise cloud architectures and experience in vertically-oriented solution selling is highly desirable.
