Fortress Information Security is focused on deploying and customizing cybersecurity risk management solutions for defense sector clients. As a Solutions Engineer, you will support the delivery and compliance of these solutions while collaborating with various teams to address client needs and enhance cybersecurity measures.
Responsibilities
- Configure, demonstrate, and support Fortress’s cybersecurity solutions for defense clients
- Deliver technical presentations that clearly communicate solution value to stakeholders
- Support solution delivery to ensure compliance with federal and defense cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, CMMC, DFARS)
- Maintain and enhance demo environments to showcase the latest platform capabilities
- Gather and document customer requirements under the guidance of senior engineers
- Translate customer feedback into actionable requirements for product and engineering teams
- Create clear process flows, documentation, and user guides to support both internal teams and customer success
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to ensure solutions are both technically feasible and defense-compliant
- Provide field insights and customer feedback to inform product roadmap discussions
- Participate in testing and validating new product features before release
- Build knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management principles, and defense-sector requirements
- Stay current on industry standards and emerging defense cybersecurity threats
- Develop the skills to independently deliver technical demos and customer workshops over time
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- 1–2 years of experience in a technical role (e.g., IT, cybersecurity, risk management, or solutions engineering)
- Experience in customer-facing or support roles, ideally with defense or government clients
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable information
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001) and supply chain security principles
- Familiarity with process documentation, solution diagrams, or workflow tools
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (required)
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent professional work experience required
- Experience with AI-enabled tools in cybersecurity or risk platforms
- Experience using reporting and dashboard tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Experience configuring reports and working with data to support business or customer needs
- Security-related certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+, CMMC-focused training) preferred but not required
