ACLED is a company focused on corporate licensing and data solutions, and they are seeking a Sales Development Representative to generate and qualify new business opportunities. The role involves outbound prospecting, client engagement, and pipeline development to support corporate licensing revenue growth.
Responsibilities
• Identify, research, and prioritize target corporate accounts across agreed sectors, geographies, and use cases
• Execute structured outbound prospecting via email, LinkedIn, phone, and other appropriate channels
• Manage and respond to inbound corporate licensing inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Build a strong understanding of ACLED’s data, products, and commercial use cases to effectively engage prospects
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospecting activity and interactions in the CRM systems
• Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand prospect needs, use cases, and decision-making processes
• Qualify opportunities against agreed internal criteria and assess commercial potential
• Clearly and confidently communicate ACLED’s value proposition and differentiate it from alternative data providers
• Book qualified meetings and hand off opportunities to the Head of Corporate Licensing or other senior sales team members
• Support early-stage deal progression through follow-ups and coordination where appropriate
• Meet or exceed clearly defined KPIs related to outreach activity, meetings booked, and pipeline contribution
• Manage time and priorities effectively in a remote working environment
• Track performance and conversion metrics to support continuous improvement
• Take ownership of individual targets and contribute to overall corporate licensing revenue goals
• Work closely with the Head of Corporate Licensing to align prospecting efforts with broader sales strategy and priorities
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to leverage campaigns, content, and events for lead generation
• Coordinate with Analysis and Data teams to ensure accurate and responsible positioning of ACLED’s data
• Provide feedback on market trends, prospect objections, and competitive dynamics
Skills
• 1–3 years of experience in sales development, business development, or a similar commercial role (B2B preferred)
• Highly motivated and growth oriented
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
• Comfortable working to targets and being measured against clear performance KPIs
• Organized, proactive, and well suited to work effectively in a remote setting
• Interest in global affairs, political risk, security, ESG, or data-driven decision-making is an advantage
• Experience using CRM systems and sales engagement tools is desirable
