We are Baylor Hospice Triage Nurses providing after-hours nurse triage for hospice and home health providers since 2008. We use client-customized protocols for patient-centered, compassionate care and support our clients’ nursing staff in the field by leveraging our outsourced team of nurses to manage after-hours care delivery. Responsibilities
• Be compliant with the required schedule and shifts as defined (e.g., Baylor schedule: Sat & Sun 7:30AM – 4PM; full-time Baylor nurses work 6 days out of a 14-day pay period; Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays depending on hired shifts).
• Access electronic medical records (EMRs) for charting and utilize internal applications to perform job functions.
• Follow instructions, read directions, and be proficient with technology; ensure a quiet, privacy/HIPAA-compliant space for work.
• Complete approximately 30 minutes of paid shift prep prior to taking calls.
• Complete remaining charting after shifts (typically 30 minutes to 2 hours) before clocking out.
Qualifications
• MUST have or be willing to obtain a Compact RN license (states with pending or future implementation dates are not considered current compact states until the implementation date).
• You must reside in and work from a Compact US state; must remain in good standing and license active.
• Experience in hospice, palliative, end-of-life care is strongly preferred; experience in fast-paced environments (ED, critical care, surgical services, etc.) is a plus.
• Must have high-speed internet and be tech savvy with keyboard competence.
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a bonus.
• Must be able to complete three weeks of remote paid training conducted during days and evenings; be available to work some holidays as required.
• Must be able to handle stress and multitask during calls (minimum of 5 calls per hour on weekdays, up to 8 per hour on weekends).
• Must be able to communicate empathically with patients while adhering to protocols and maintain CEUs as designated by the states in which you answer calls.
• Must pass background check and nurse licensing check; maintain licensure in active status.
• Must be comfortable accessing multiple technology applications to document during calls.
Compensation and Benefits
• Baylor rates are $25 per hour plus an additional $1 shift differential on Saturdays and Sundays.
• All part-time and full-time RNs are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan.
• Full-time RNs may participate in medical, dental, vision, and/or supplemental insurances.
• We provide a laptop and headset; you provide your own high-speed internet and a quiet, private workspace.
