Bachan’s is seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven Director of Sales – Costco to lead one of the company’s most critical growth channels. This role owns the day-to-day customer relationship with Costco and helps drive long-term growth across existing and emerging categories.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary commercial lead and day-to-day relationship owner for Costco
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Costco buyers, replenishment teams, brokers, and cross-functional customer contacts
- Lead customer meetings, business reviews, assortment discussions, promotional planning, and growth initiatives
- Ensure a high level of responsiveness, execution, and partnership quality across all customer interactions
- Develop and execute customer growth strategies aligned with company commercial objectives
- Identify opportunities for distribution expansion, new item placement, promotional optimization, and category growth
- Partner with senior leadership to support long-term customer strategy as account complexity and SKU expansion increase
- Monitor competitive activity, category trends, and customer priorities to identify risks and opportunities
- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Forecasting, Operations, and Customer Service teams to support accurate forecasting and inventory planning
- Monitor customer demand trends, service levels, inventory risks, and promotional impacts
- Help proactively manage supply challenges, allocation decisions, and customer communication
- Support operational readiness for launches, promotions, and assortment changes
- Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Commercialization, and Operations teams to ensure strong customer execution
- Coordinate commercialization activities including item launches, packaging updates, promotional programs, and retailer readiness
- Help simplify communication, prioritize initiatives, and drive alignment across internal teams
- Contribute to a collaborative and accountable team environment that supports business growth and continuous improvement
- Analyze sales performance, promotional effectiveness, customer trends, and key business metrics
- Utilize syndicated data, retailer reporting, and internal analytics tools to identify growth opportunities and operational risks
- Provide clear business updates, recommendations, and action plans to leadership
- Support ongoing process improvements that enhance customer execution and organizational scalability
Skills
- 5–10+ years of sales, customer management, or national account experience within CPG, food/beverage, or related industries
- Experience working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or high-growth business environments
- Demonstrated success growing customer relationships and delivering revenue growth
- Experience supporting cross-functional execution across forecasting, operations, commercialization, and customer planning
- Strong relationship management and customer-facing communication skills
- Strong commercial, analytical, and strategic thinking capabilities
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills across cross-functional teams
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and evolving environments
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management capabilities
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to move quickly and thoughtfully
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Direct experience managing Costco or large national retail accounts strongly preferred
- Experience using syndicated data tools such as Circana, Nielsen, SPINS, or retailer portals preferred
- Experience with forecasting, reporting, and sales planning tools preferred
- Experience supporting club channel or multi-buyer retail complexity
- Experience supporting rapid SKU expansion and commercialization
- Experience working with founder-led or emerging growth brands
- Food industry experience strongly preferred
- Exposure to trade planning and revenue management concepts
- MBA or related advanced degree preferred but not required
