As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will be the face of our pharmacy operations, providing outstanding service to patients and customers while ensuring accuracy in prescription processing and data entry. What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties that contribute to the smooth operation of our pharmacy and ensure excellent patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Client Experience Excellence: Greet and engage customers warmly, offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions promptly to ensure a positive shopping experience. Model and promote excellent customer service best practices, demonstrating friendly interpersonal habits such as welcoming greetings, eye contact, and professionalism.
- Register Operations: Process customer purchases on designated sales registers, collect payments accurately, and provide correct change. Handle voids, returns, delays, refunds, and exchanges as needed. Guide customers to appropriate store aisles when they need help finding products.
- Pharmacy Support: Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and medication information and process prescriptions accurately. Enter patient and medication data into systems, ensuring information is input correctly to maintain records integrity.
- Prescription Processing: Retrieve, count, and pour prescription medications as directed. Verify medications are correct and check for potential drug interactions. Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow efficiency.
- Error Reporting: Report prescription errors to the on-duty pharmacist immediately, adhering to company policies and procedures related to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Review and follow the arenaflex Pharmacy Practice Guidelines.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to arenaflex policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all prescription dispensing activities. Handle calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention, including physician inquiries.
- Claims Processing: Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Director.
- Inventory Management: Assist and support the Pharmacy Division with inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing medication shipments. Maintain knowledge of company asset security procedures and report warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding controlled substances such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
- Merchandising: Build and maintain displays including promotional, seasonal, super formats, and sale stock. Complete resets and revisions as directed. Assist with food item division and product positioning as determined by company policies.
- Photo Services: Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital photo printing, banner printing, creative machine operations, and special photo product sales. Handle web order duties including monitoring orders in Picture Care Plus, fulfilling orders, and delivering orders to customers.
- Store Maintenance: Assist with external and internal maintenance by ensuring a clean, tidy, and organized store condition and appearance.
- General Duties: Comply with all company policies and procedures, maintain respectful relationships with team members, and complete special projects and other tasks as assigned.
What We're Looking For: Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, though we value relevant experience and a commitment to excellence.
- Language Skills: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Availability: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills and working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Strong numerical skills for accurately counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months or more of experience in a retail environment.
- Previous work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification or willingness to obtain certification through our designated training program.
- Strong knowledge of store inventory control procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
