Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Law and Motion Associate - Of Counsel for a fully remote position available nationwide, including San Juan, PR. This role involves handling motion work related to litigation matters, including demand letters and agency charges. The position is non-Principal track with a requirement of 1850 hours annually.
Duties
• Conduct legal research and draft briefs and motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
• Draft trial motions and assist with preparing trial documents.
• Research and draft appellate briefs.
• Draft and respond to pleadings and discovery.
• Prepare mediation briefs.
• Collaborate with the Professional Development team to deliver work product to clients.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by firm leadership.
Requirements
• Admission to the CA state bar and compliance with ethical requirements.
• Good standing with the bar.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in California employment litigation for Associate role.
• At least 9 years of relevant experience for Of Counsel role, with first chair capacity.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication skills and strong legal research and drafting abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
Certifications
• Admission to the California State Bar.
