Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- On-Site Technical Service: Perform preventative maintenance, system installations, upgrades, and complex repairs of IVF laboratory equipment at customer sites, ensuring compliance with CooperSurgical service standards.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Utilize strong analytical and technical troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software issues in laboratory equipment.
- Documentation & Data Integrity: Ensure all service activities are accurately documented and reported in a timely manner. Maintain complete and up-to-date records within the CRM system, including service reports, installation records, and customer interactions.
- Tool Calibration & Compliance: Maintain calibration and operational readiness of service tools and equipment. Coordinate with the appropriate internal departments to ensure tools remain compliant with calibration and quality requirements.
- Resource Coordination: Work closely with Service Support, Scheduling, and Logistics teams to ensure necessary spare parts, tools, and documentation are available prior to site visits.
- Continuous Learning & Product Expertise: Maintain current knowledge of CooperSurgical products and technologies through ongoing training and technical updates, ensuring the ability to support newly released or updated equipment.
Travel:
- Approximately 70% or more travel, primarily within France with occasional international assignments.
- Flexibility to travel on short notice and work outside standard business hours when required to support customer needs.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in using electronic test equipment, diagnostic tools, and precision hand tools
- Experience with hardware installation, equipment configuration, and software setup
Problem Solving
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to independently diagnose complex technical issues.
Communication
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Fluency in English / French is required; additional European languages are highly advantageous.
Work Environment:
- Field-based role requiring regular work within hospital, laboratory, and IVF clinic environments.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing, repairing, or implementing medical devices, laboratory equipment, or biotechnology instruments.
Education:
- Completed higher electronics, technical, mechanics, or engineering education.
