Position Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Analysis Designer to join our dynamic Healthcare Analytics team. In this role, you will collaborate with internal IT information design and research groups to execute and maintain data infrastructure conditions that enable report automation for the arenaflex Healthcare Quality Improvement program – Information and Insight commercialization. You will work alongside a cross-functional team of data investigators, BI engineers, system administrators, and data consumers to help deliver performance insights across arenaflex Health.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Analysis Designer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the delivery of data and insights initiatives and projects. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leadership and Delivery: Supervise the delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights drives and projects, ensuring timely and accurate execution that aligns with organizational goals and objectives.
- Data Engineering: Support long-term and ad-hoc data ETL and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health reporting and analysis requirements, ensuring data availability and reliability for business stakeholders.
- Database Development: Plan, develop, and deliver layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analysis projects, focusing on scalability, performance, and data integrity.
- Data Modeling: Create data planning and preprocessing standards for populating logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables for both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.
- ETL Best Practices: Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal arenaflex production system sources and third-party files, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Data Analysis: Perform data profiling and data analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets, including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS records.
- Automation and Tools: Develop internal tools for automation of all development-related activities, including data processing, QA, data validation, and other analytical processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data investigators, BI engineers, system administrators, and data consumers to deliver performance insights across arenaflex Health, fostering strong working relationships and knowledge sharing.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners to understand requirements, present solutions, and ensure alignment on project objectives.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Technical Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts, with a strong understanding of data integration principles and best practices.
- Data Platform Experience: Experience designing and delivering reasonably isolated data environments using ETL/ELT services, including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- BI Tool Proficiency: Experience providing thought leadership and presenting tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with technical teams, internal stakeholders, clients, and vendor partners.
- Business Acumen: At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace, demonstrating an understanding of business impact and ROI considerations.
- Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team management experience, with a track record of driving team success.
- Travel Availability: Able to travel up to at least 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state) to support project requirements and stakeholder meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be advantageous for this role:
- Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts, including understanding of healthcare data standards, clinical workflows, and regulatory requirements.
- Advanced Analytics Experience: Familiarity with advanced analytics methodologies, predictive modeling, or machine learning applications in healthcare settings.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in data engineering, cloud platforms, or healthcare informatics.
