Video Shot Annotation Artist (AI Training)
About The Role
We're looking for visually fluent creatives to help teach AI how to see film the way a filmmaker does. As a Video Shot Annotation Artist at Alignerr, you'll break down video content at the shot level — describing camera angles, framing, movement, pacing, and mood — so that AI systems can understand not just what is on screen, but how it was crafted.
This is a unique opportunity to put your knowledge of film grammar to work on cutting-edge AI projects, entirely on your own schedule.
• Organization: Alignerr
• Type: Hourly Contract
• Location: Remote
• Commitment: Flexible hours
What You'll Do
• Watch video clips and segment them into individual shots, confirming cut boundaries with precision
• Annotate each shot with camera angle, shot size, and camera movement (e.g., pan, tilt, dolly, handheld)
• Write clear, concise descriptions of on-screen action within each shot
• Apply stylistic and tonal tags — including lighting style, visual mood, and genre feel — where relevant
• Work within predefined taxonomies and labeling frameworks to ensure consistency across large datasets
• Flag ambiguous shots, unclear transitions, or edge cases for review
• Maintain accuracy and output quality across high-volume annotation workflows
Must-Have
Who You Are
• Strong visual literacy — you notice shot distinctions others miss
• Solid understanding of core film grammar: shot types, camera angles, and movement terminology
• Comfortable working in structured labeling tools, spreadsheets, or annotation interfaces
• Detail-oriented and consistent, especially across repetitive tasks
• Ability to work independently and manage your own pace
Nice To Have
• Background in video editing, assistant editing, cinematography, or post-production
• Prior experience with data annotation, dataset labeling, or AI training workflows
• Familiarity with visual storytelling across different genres and formats
