About the Role Our client, a leading manufacturer in the biotech sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician to join their state-of-the-art facility in San Diego, California . This role is crucial for ensuring the operational continuity and efficiency of highly specialized manufacturing and laboratory equipment. You will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex machinery, including automated systems, sophisticated laboratory instruments, and cleanroom equipment. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, coupled with experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Perform complex diagnostic procedures to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on advanced industrial equipment. Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for critical machinery, including calibration and testing. Respond to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, implementing efficient repair strategies to minimize downtime. Interpret and utilize technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings. Install, adjust, and repair specialized manufacturing and laboratory equipment. Work within cleanroom environments, adhering to strict protocols and gowning procedures. Collaborate with engineering and production teams on equipment upgrades and modifications. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance, repair, and calibration activities. Ensure compliance with all company safety standards, GMP guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Assist in training junior maintenance technicians on equipment operation and repair techniques. Manage spare parts inventory for assigned equipment and assist in procurement. Requirements Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on complex manufacturing or laboratory equipment. Strong proficiency in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Experience with automated systems, robotics, and PLCs is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience working in a GMP or regulated manufacturing environment is essential. Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and procedures. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Must be able to work shifts as required and available for on-call duties.
