POSITION OVERVIEW: As part of a growing Accounting and Finance team, the Senior Accountant will support the Corporate Controller with daily accounting operations, monthly close activities, and financial reporting for entities within the Zema Global group. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the full-cycle accounting process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records. This role will take ownership of the monthly financials and will be responsible for activities including journal entries, revenue recognition, bank reconciliations, and sales tax compliance. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting responsibilities in a dynamic global organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform full-cycle accounting duties including general ledger journal entries and reconciliations • Reconcile bank accounts daily and report cash balances • Support the monthly close process across group entities • Own the monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary • Issue customer invoices, resolve billing questions, and assist with collections • Record monthly revenue recognition entries and reconcile deferred revenue accounts • Support the Accounts Payable process, including booking vendor bills and processing payments • Review and approve sales tax returns and manage sales tax registrations • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP • Assist with implementation and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and processes • Collaborate with other departments to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting • Support ongoing projects across the Finance department, including audits, system improvements, and process automation REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance, or CPA/ACCA/MBA • 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a software or technology company • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP • Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP • Experience preparing and filing sales tax returns • Multi-currency Accounting: Experience working with multiple currencies • Global Exposure: Comfortable with complex, multinational operations • Familiarity with Avalara or similar tax automation software • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments Why Zema Global? • Be part of a rapidly growing company shaping how data drives decisions in energy and commodities. • Work with cutting-edge technology alongside industry experts. • Significant opportunity to impact strategy, revenue growth, and decision-making. • Join a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and autonomy to drive meaningful change.
