SAP is a global leader in business application software, helping the world run better. The SAP Payroll Consultant role supports North America Payroll processes and transactions, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with tax regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in processing multi-state U.S. payroll to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Support the review of payroll data and help identify discrepancies
- Assist in ensuring accurate flow of payroll postings to the general ledger
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Monitor and escalate payroll issues or discrepancies as appropriate
- Assist with wage reporting, tax filings, and year-end activities including W-2 preparation
- Respond to routine payroll inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders
- Support investigation and resolution of payroll discrepancies with guidance from senior team members
- Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and enhancements
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain and update payroll procedures and documentation
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support smooth payroll operations
- Support testing activities by executing predefined test cases and documenting results
- Effectively manage assigned tasks and meet established deadlines
Skills
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in U.S. payroll processing or related field
- Basic understanding of U.S. payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to support employees and internal stakeholders
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Experience with SAP IPP or similar payroll systems
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field
