[Remote] Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs that integrate with internal and external systems, mobile applications, and warehouse devices
• Collaborate with front-end and mobile teams to deliver end-to-end features that enhance warehouse workflows
• Ensure adherence to the software development lifecycle and best practices
• Design, implement, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures against a large, distributed system
• Develop and maintain APIs to interface with upstream and downstream systems
• Collaborate with platform architects and engineers to ensure optimal database and system performance
• Create effective documentation for stored procedures, database logic, and APIs
• Ensure scalable debugging, triage, monitoring, and defect resolution
• Foster trust and accountability within the team, contributing positively to day-to-day activities

Skills

• 3+ years professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years experience managing, developing and scaling large scale back-end systems
• 2+ years of experience developing scalable backend services using Node.js
• Expert-level SQL skills, including query optimization, stored procedure development, and performance tuning in large transactional environments
• TypeScript knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with message queues or event-driven architecture (Kafka preferred)
• Foundational AI literacy, including experience using generative AI tools, and a proactive mindset to experiment with new technologies to drive productivity and innovation
