We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Model Risk Management Specialist to join our team at American Express. As a key member of our Global Risk and Compliance Group, you will be responsible for managing and controlling model risk, with a focus on cutting-edge Gen AI (Large Language Models) and AI-based models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent oversight of enterprise-wide models, with an emphasis on Gen AI and AI-based models for marketing, credit, fraud, or other business/risk types
- Perform gap assessments and establish a robust framework to strengthen model risk controls and meet elevated regulatory requirements
- Lead AI/ML research to explore potential opportunities to enhance model excellence and drive business impact
- Communicate results to stakeholders, senior management, and various model councils
Success Factors:
- Challenge the applied effectiveness, theory, and approach of predictive models
- Maximize business returns by prioritizing effective and accurate models
- Advance modeling techniques and variable creation
- Ensure modeling accuracy and improve modeling efficiency in existing processes using AI
