Global Life Science Hub is partnered with a rapidly growing biopharmaceutical manufacturer expanding its commercial manufacturing operations. They are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering and maintenance activities at a biologics manufacturing facility, ensuring operational excellence and facility reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering, facilities, utilities, and maintenance operations across manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and support functions
- Own preventative and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring equipment reliability and operational readiness
- Manage CMMS systems, maintenance planning activities, asset records, spare parts strategy, and performance metrics
- Oversee critical utility systems including HVAC, purified water, compressed gases, electrical distribution, chilled water, steam, vacuum, and building management systems
- Drive equipment reliability initiatives through root cause investigations, trending analysis, and continuous improvement programs
- Lead facility and equipment change control activities while ensuring compliance with GMP requirements
- Support capital projects from concept through commissioning, qualification, and operational handover
- Manage calibration programs and provide engineering oversight for qualification and validation activities
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Facilities, and Technical Operations teams to support site objectives
- Manage engineering contractors, vendors, and service providers while ensuring safe and compliant execution of work
- Develop maintenance budgets and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and reliability improvements
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and maintenance personnel
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline
- Previous leadership experience within pharmaceutical, biologics, biotechnology, or medical device manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of GMP facility systems, utilities, maintenance programs, and engineering compliance
- Experience managing CMMS platforms, maintenance planning, and engineering KPIs
- Familiarity with qualification, validation, calibration, and change management processes
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive operational improvements
- Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities
