The Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities with correctional agencies, managing the full sales cycle, and building relationships with key decision-makers.
Responsibilities
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities with correctional agencies and related organizations
- Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract execution
- Building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers
- Conducting product presentations and demonstrations
- Collaborating closely with internal teams on proposals, pricing, and solution design
- Market and competitive analysis
- Pipeline management
- Forecasting and reporting on business development performance
- Representing Vant4ge at industry events
- Contributing to strategic growth initiatives
- Ensuring that client needs are translated into long-term partnerships
Skills
- Business development, sales, and account management skills, with a track record of securing and growing enterprise or public-sector clients
- Must be able to lead and mentor others
- Experience in corrections, justice, public safety, or related government sectors, and ability to understand agency operations and procurement processes
- Strategic planning, market analysis, and opportunity evaluation skills to drive sustainable revenue growth
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to convey complex technology solutions to diverse stakeholders
- Collaboration and relationship-building skills to work cross-functionally with product, implementation, and leadership teams
- Comfort with technology platforms, data-driven solutions, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings
- Ability to travel as needed (approximately 50%), and manage multiple initiatives with attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field
- Advanced degree is a plus
- Familiarity with AI or analytics tools is an advantage
