They are seeking a hands-on Data Center Engineer to support onsite operations, infrastructure builds, and Layer 1 systems, requiring strong execution and collaboration across engineering and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage onsite risks, incidents, shift turnovers, vendor coordination, and media handling
- Execute user stories for installs, moves, decommissions, reconfigs, and power‑down events
- Support Layer 1 infrastructure design, cabling, capacity planning, and automation workflows
- Assess impact of hardware/software changes on data center service
- Maintain documentation and contribute to process improvement
- Participate in agile ceremonies, demos, and team knowledge sharing
Skills
- 1–3+ years in data center deployment/operations (new builds or major expansions)
- Strong understanding of copper/fiber cabling, cable plants, and structured cabling standards
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN/SAN, firewalls, servers (Windows/Linux/UNIX), storage, wireless, DAS
- Familiarity with EIA/TIA, IEEE, NEC, ISO standards
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
- Degree in CS/Networking/Telecom or equivalent experience
- 3–5+ years in complex data center design and operations
- Industry certifications (data center or networking)
- Experience with APIs, system integration, OS platforms, and security hardening
- Knowledge of network monitoring (SNMP, CDP, ICMP) and VLAN/LAN/WAN troubleshooting
- Exposure to automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
