Remote, Contract -based, Florida Immigration and Family Law Paralegal Opportunity

About the position The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals who provide remote, on-demand support for both short-term and long-term legal projects for their client law firms. Due to increased demand, they are interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Florida Family Law / Immigration Paralegal. Remote work hours will vary, but are expected to be approximately 6-10 hours per week. Responsibilities • Drafting pleadings, petitions, and discovery, including initial disclosures • Supporting immigration matters, including document preparation and client coordination • Following up with clients to gather information and documentation needed for filings and case progression • Managing all aspects of calendaring, deadlines, and case organization to ensure no deadlines are missed • Scheduling, e-filing with courts, and general administrative litigation support • Researching and identifying local court/judge rules as needed • Client communication and case management • Moving cases forward independently and taking initiative on next steps Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Paralegal with direct experience in Florida family law matters • Strong experience drafting pleadings, petitions, and discovery, including initial disclosures • Experience supporting immigration matters, including document preparation and client coordination • Ability to follow up with clients to gather information and documentation needed for filings and case progression • Experience managing all aspects of calendaring, deadlines, and case organization to ensure no deadlines are missed • Familiarity with scheduling, e-filing with courts, and general administrative litigation support • Ability to research and identify local court/judge rules as needed • Strong client communication and case management skills • Highly organized with strong attention to detail • Ability to move cases forward independently and take initiative on next steps • Self-starter who can work independently in a remote environment Nice-to-haves • Immigration experience • Proficiency with Clio or similar case management systems Benefits • Pay rate starts at $30/hour
