Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Destinations is a company focused on crafting memorable travel experiences for clients. They are seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) who will identify, qualify, and nurture leads to support the sales pipeline and help close deals.
Responsibilities
- Find new clients who do amazing group travel
- Prospect for new business by researching companies and individuals that match Destinations' ideal customer profile, identifying key contacts, and building targeted outreach lists
- Initiate contact with potential clients through cold calling, emailing, and social networking (e.g., LinkedIn, industry events, etc.) to generate interest in Destinations' group travel programs
- Qualify inbound and outbound business opportunities by uncovering each client's program objectives, destination needs, budget, timeline, and overall event requirements
- Nurture leads who are a good fit but not yet ready for a full proposal by providing valuable resources and consistent follow-up via email and social media
- Book qualified meetings for Global Sales Managers (GSMs) and thoroughly prep them beforehand, including the prospect's background, needs, budget, and expectations
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all prospecting, qualification, and nurturing activity in the CRM
- Increase sales pipeline velocity by keeping a steady flow of qualified leads moving toward GSMs, shortening the overall sales cycle
- Become the “Go-To Guide” regarding vendors and travel options
- Represent Destinations at vendor and client networking events when possible
Skills
- Position only open to candidates in Utah at this time. All other candidates will be automatically declined
- 1-2 years of experience in a sales, business development, or customer-facing role (internship experience considered); B2B sales or hospitality/event-planning experience is a big plus
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or a related field preferred (high school diploma or equivalent required)
- Comfortable with CRM software and Google G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Workspace at home that is free of distractions, has speedy internet, and lets you show up professional and camera-ready
- Strong research skills and an eye for detail when profiling prospects
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a high volume of outreach activity
- Effective and kind communication with team members, clients, and vendors
- Ability to think, plan, and act with a long-term, big-picture mindset
- Cold outreach experience through calls, emails, and LinkedIn
