Job Title: After School Class Assistant
Department: Center for Family Life
Reports to: Yael Kahn Pinto, Director, Center for Family Life
FLSA Status: Exempt
Date: 7/23
Job Overview:
The Center for Family Life seeks enthusiastic assistants for the JCC's after school classes, including, but not limited to, ceramics, cooking, dance and engineering. Assistants have an important role in supporting our instructors and ensuring a positive and engaging environment for the children.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children ages 4-10 and be excited about helping inspire and guide children as they explore their interests and develop new skills.
This position will begin in September 2023.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist instructors in setting up and preparing materials for each class, ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available for students
- Provide support to students during class activities, and offer assistance to student and instructor when needed
- Help maintain a safe and organized environment in accordance with JCC policies
- Assist with class breakdown and clean up
- Prior experience working with, preferably in a group or educational environment
- Ability to collaborate with and take instruction from class instructors
- Availability one or two afternoon weekdays, between 3:00 and 6:00
- College degree preferred

Expected salary: $20 - 30 per hour
