Job Summary
The Geospatial Teaching Assistant will serve as an instructional apprentice under the guidance and supervision of a faculty member. Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with course preparation and instructional support in labs
- Leading review sessions and discussions
- Mentoring independent projects and assisting with grading
- Guiding students in best practices and safety
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have completed GEO 1710/3710 and GEO 3840 and GEOG 2400/4400 (or similar courses) with a B or better grade
- Be currently majoring in the College of Science or College of Social Behavioral Sciences
- Possess strong computer skills, including typing, reading, and using a computer
- Be able to communicate effectively with students and be on camera for periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates with:
- A major in Earth and Environmental Sciences or Geography, Environment and Sustainability
- Previous experience in teaching, such as tutoring
