About the Role
The Corporate Function Control Management Team within AENB is responsible for providing control management oversight to several corporate groups, including Corporate Affairs & Communications, Colleague Experience Group, General Counsel's Organization, Global Risk & Compliance, Enterprise Strategy, and American Express National Bank Headquarters. We are looking for experienced professionals to join our teams, including:
- Control Management Governance & Reporting Team
- Control Management Risk ID, Assessment & Testing Team
- Control Management Issues, Events & Remediation Team
- Control Management Process Risk Reduction Team
Responsibilities
As a Manager or Senior Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Driving the development and implementation of control management strategies and frameworks
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks
- Providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and risk reduction initiatives
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders and regulatory agencies
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 3+ years of experience in operational risk management (Manager) or 4+ years of experience (Senior Manager)
- Strong understanding of operational risk management lifecycle activities
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in process governance and regulatory frameworks
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field
- Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications
- Experience in translating operational risk strategy and appetite into execution guidelines
- Knowledge of Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite
- Experience in financial services industry ORMCM
