Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate AP and Academic Tutor to join our team of remote educators. As a remote contract tutor, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized, one-on-one tutoring services to students, helping them to overcome academic challenges and achieve success in their studies. This is a part-time, hourly position, with flexible scheduling to accommodate your needs and those of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct private, virtual classes with students, providing expert guidance and support in AP and academic subjects, including AP Comp Sci A, AP Physics, AP Biology, AP Spanish, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, and college test prep (SAT/ACT math and English)
- Develop and implement tailored learning plans, adapting your teaching methods to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each student
- Provide ongoing feedback, assessment, and evaluation to students, helping them to track their progress and achieve their academic goals
- Collaborate with our team of educators to develop and refine curriculum materials, ensuring that our students receive the most effective and engaging learning experiences possible
- Utilize digital tools and platforms, such as Zoom, to deliver high-quality, interactive tutoring sessions that simulate the traditional classroom experience
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Experience in teaching and tutoring college-bound students, with a strong track record of helping students achieve academic success
- Excellent knowledge and teaching experience in AP curriculum subjects, as well as SAT/ACT exams
- Prior experience with virtual education and skills delivery, using platforms such as Zoom or similar services
- Proven pedagogy skills, with the ability to adapt your teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of your students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a remote team
- Curriculum or educational materials development experience is a plus, but not required
