About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to lead our Safety and Security data science team. As a Senior Data Scientist at Blithequark, you will have a broad impact by driving a team of full-stack data scientists and performing hands-on execution. You will design and build a state-of-the-art Safety data warehouse and data tools to provide tailored solutions and meet a wide range of evolving needs, including scalable and high-quality metric reporting, regulatory compliance, product insights, and enforcement experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand data user needs to design data pipelines and tooling, collaborating with partners including Safety data scientists, Implementation, Product, and Engineering teams, Trust and Security Policy, and Legal.
- Own and work on metric reporting, metric validation, and new metric development for Blithequark's transparency reporting and regulatory reporting.
- Review and revamp the existing data warehouse with a focus on improving data quality, data reliability, and pipeline visibility.
- Increase the Safety data science team's productivity through automation, ETL techniques, and agile processes.
- Collaborate with extensive data science teams in building shared data systems and tooling.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Python proficiency and solid SQL capability.
- 4+ years of experience working with large-scale ETL systems (execution, process, and support).
- 4+ years of non-temporary professional experience building clean, effective, object-oriented code (Python preferred) in a production environment.
- Experience as a database administrator or architect with large-scale data warehouse systems like Google BigQuery.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional partners at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Capability with Windstream or similar data/ETL tools in a production environment.
- Involvement in public/regulatory metric reporting.

Compensation and Transparency:
We offer a competitive salary range of $35-45 per year. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to receive equity as restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, may also be eligible to receive a commission. We provide a comprehensive benefits package to U.S.-based employees, including clinical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) program with employer match, liberal downtime for vacation, and parental leave.
