As a pharmacy technician, you'll play a vital role in providing patient-centric care, interacting with customers, and leveraging technology to streamline our operations. You'll work closely with our pharmacists, pharmacy managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care. **Key Responsibilities** * Assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with national and federal regulations * Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions * Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience * Engage customers and patients by greeting them and providing assistance with services and products * Resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a superb customer experience * Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers * Perform duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager, personnel pharmacist, and store supervisor, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy * Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow * Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program * Adhere to the Walgreen Co. Policy regarding accurate dispensing throughout all applicable prescription dispensing activities * Register all related income on assigned cash register, collect and handle coins as required * Take customers to the OTC aisle to assist in finding merchandise * Handle telephone calls that don't require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians * Method (correct and resubmit) claims for third-party application prescription services in a timely and efficient way, and perform other clerical responsibilities as assigned by the store manager * Assist and support the pharmacy department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of prescription drugs * Maintain knowledge of company asset safety procedures and document claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not obtained), order errors or broken goods related to Rx capsules * May assist pharmacists in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required * Assist the pharmacy supervisor and personnel pharmacist in developing and maintaining true relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, through clinical provider detailing and outreach to healthcare agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for reinforcing growth opportunities **Education & Personal Development** * Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the unique PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration * Attend training and complete PPLs as requested by the manager and acquire continuing education credits * Maintain expertise and knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest information and developments * Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE) **Basic Qualifications** * Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) * Must have a high school diploma or equivalent * Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time **Preferred Qualifications** * Choose to have six months of experience in a retail environment * Choose to have previous work experience with arenaflex * Choose to have desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines * Choose to have correct computer skills * Choose to have knowledge of store inventory management * Prefer PTCB certification **Work Environment & Company Culture** * arenaflex is a dynamic and fast-paced work environment that requires flexibility and adaptability * We're committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment that promotes diversity and inclusion * Our company culture is built on the principles of respect, empathy, and compassion, and we're passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of our patients and customers **Compensation, Perks, & Benefits** * Competitive salary and benefits package * Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage options for employees and their families * Prescription savings for employees and their families * Retirement plans, including 401(k) plans, to help employees save for their future * Employee stock purchase plan with a discount * Opportunities for career growth and professional development * Paid time off, including vacation days, sick leave, and holidays * Education assistance and tuition reimbursement programs * Employee discounts on products and services offered by arenaflex * Flexible work arrangements, including part-time and full-time positions * Employee assistance program to support employees with personal and professional challenges **How to Apply** If you're passionate about delivering patient-centric care and making a difference in the lives of our patients and customers, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
