Key Responsibilities • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning in Art classes. • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests that align with established procedures and curriculum standards. • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment. • Utilize relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction, catering to diverse learning needs. • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere. • Provide constructive feedback on student work, encouraging progress and development. • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development, updating records as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations. • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs. • Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive educational environment. • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds. • Encourage parent and community involvement, fostering a strong connection between the school and the local community. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: • A Bachelor's degree in Teaching or a related field from an accredited institution. • A current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) in teaching or a Substitute Teacher License. • The ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. • A proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis. • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology in educational settings.
