Job Summary and Responsibilities
In this part-time role, you will play a vital part in the patient care process by ensuring laboratory specimens are properly received and routed for testing. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in this position. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing data entry tasks, including lab requests and test orders, with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- Double-checking test orders and recognizing when corrective action is needed to ensure quality control
- Working in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and adhering to PPE requirements to maintain a safe working environment
- Championing safety, compliance, and quality control in all aspects of your work
- Contributing to the patient care process without being face-to-face, making a positive impact on the lives of others
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Typing proficiency, including 10-key, with a high level of accuracy and speed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
While not required, the following qualifications and experience are preferred:
- 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing
- Data entry experience in a production environment, with a focus on quality and efficiency
