About the Role
As a Data Scientist at arenaflex, you'll work cross-functionally with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and external partners to help our organization make smarter, data-driven decisions. You'll leverage your expertise in forecasting, automating ETL processes, and designing and building analytical models using both structured and unstructured data. This role offers you the opportunity to work directly with colleagues and technology teams from problem identification through to solution implementation.
You'll quickly become an expert in one of our critical business and data domains—Supply Chain, People Analytics, Marketing, or Store Operations—and work cross-functionally within an analytics center of excellence to improve existing processes and analytical approaches. Key Responsibilities
As an integral part of our data team, you will be responsible for:
- Data Extraction and Analysis: Extract data from various databases; perform exploratory data analysis, cleansing, manipulation, and aggregation to prepare datasets for deeper analysis and modeling.
- Business Problem Solving: Determine appropriate analytical approaches to tackle complex business problems; incorporate machine learning algorithms where appropriate to uncover patterns and predict outcomes.
- Process Automation: Utilize scaling and automation techniques to streamline data preparation processes, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency across the organization.
- Insight Visualization: Transform model results into easily digestible formats through visualization, clear tables, and compelling presentations. Help both technical and non-technical end users understand and interpret analyses effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across departments to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging trends in data science, machine learning, and analytics; share knowledge with team members to elevate the overall team's capabilities.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Quantitative Sociology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of industry experience in data science or a similar analytical role.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in predictive and statistical modeling, machine learning, and proficiency in all phases of the modeling pipeline from data preprocessing to model deployment.
- Data Engineering Skills: Experience building complex datasets from multiple data sources, both internal and external, with solid SQL and database skills.
- ETL Proficiency: Strong ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) abilities including data cleaning, data management, and pipeline development.
- Programming Skills: Advanced proficiency in Python, R, or other analytical platforms.
- Business Acumen: Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Self-Motivation: Self-starter with strong attention to detail and results-oriented mindset, capable of working with minimal direction while maintaining high standards of quality.
Preferred Qualifications
