Position Overview
As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure and ETL pipelines that support our worldwide accounting operations. You will work closely with stakeholders across various technical teams to identify data requirements, implement robust solutions, and enable enterprise-wide analytics capabilities. Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Data Engineer at arenaflex will include:
- Collaborating with stakeholders and engineering teams to understand business requirements and design optimal data structures and technologies for analyzing customer behavioral patterns and key business metrics.
- Partnering with cross-functional engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure, improve data availability, and expand access to critical insights through business intelligence tools across the enterprise.
- Designing, building, and implementing robust ETL processes using AWS and related technologies to ensure seamless data flow and transformation.
- Developing anomaly detection systems and proactive data quality monitoring solutions using industry-standard frameworks to maintain data integrity.
- Enabling large-scale analytics through the utilization of EMR and other big data technologies to process massive datasets efficiently.
- Establishing and enforcing technology best practices and standards that ensure consistency and quality across all data engineering initiatives.
- Conducting proof-of-concept evaluations for emerging technologies and tools to assess their potential value and applicability to our data ecosystem.
- Optimizing data pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high availability and reliability.
- Documenting technical solutions and providing guidance to team members on data engineering best practices and implementation approaches.
- Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies in big data, cloud computing, and business intelligence to continuously improve our data infrastructure.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional data engineering experience in a corporate environment.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines from the ground up.
- Proficient in SQL with the ability to write complex queries, optimize performance, and troubleshoot issues.
- Experience with one or more query languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL.
- Knowledge of scripting languages including Python, KornShell, or similar languages.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

- Familiarity with AWS cloud services including S3, EC2, Lambda, and Redshift.
- Understanding of financial accounting concepts and reporting requirements.
