Assistant Teacher Role
We're seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team in Pensacola, FL. As an Assistant Teacher, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our young students. This is a remote opportunity that allows you to work from the comfort of your own home, while still being an integral part of our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting classroom that promotes learning and exploration.
- Communicate daily with families regarding student progress, needs, and milestones to foster partnership and support.
- Develop strong professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to encourage parent and community engagement.
- Adhere to all minimum licensing, quality-rated, and accreditation guidelines, as well as company standards, to maintain a high-quality standard of care.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children, promoting healthy eating habits and mealtime routines.
- Utilize our science-based, proprietary curriculum and suggested supplement activities to create a fun and engaging learning environment tailored to each child's developmental needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance, child portfolios, USDA documentation, and other required records.
- Partner with team members and leadership to achieve center goals around enrollment, accreditations, and family engagement.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- A minimum of 12 hours of early childhood education training or related coursework.
- Experience working in a childcare setting, preferably as an Assistant Teacher or Teacher's Assistant.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve center goals and objectives.
- Basic knowledge of child development principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience with our proprietary curriculum or similar early childhood education programs.
- Certifications or credentials in early childhood education, such as CDA or CCP.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills to support diverse families and communities.
