Provide electrical application engineering support for BESS and hybrid power solutions across product development, sales support, project execution, supply chain, manufacturing, commissioning, and aftersales functions
Review customer specifications, technical bid packages, and project requirements to support compliant and commercially viable system applications
Interpret and review electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, control architecture, and technical documentation related to battery storage and associated balance-of-plant equipment
Support equipment selection, application review, and technical validation for key system components including battery modules, BMS, PCS/inverters, EMS/SCADA interfaces, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems
Respond to technical inquiries from customers, EPC contractors, utilities, field service personnel, and internal stakeholders regarding system design, performance, operation, troubleshooting, and installation
Provide technical input during proposal development, including compliance reviews, equipment configuration, customer clarifications, and identification of technical risks
Assist in troubleshooting field issues, startup concerns, commissioning support, and warranty-related investigations; participate in root cause analysis and corrective action development
Collaborate with R&D, engineering, product management, supply chain, and operations teams to improve product reliability, manufacturability, safety, and serviceability
Review supplier technical documentation and submittals to verify component compliance and support vendor coordination when needed
Assist in developing and maintaining engineering specifications, manuals, test procedures, commissioning documents, troubleshooting guides, and engineering change notices
Ensure engineering work aligns with applicable company standards, customer requirements, electrical codes, safety expectations, and industry best practices
Support continuous improvement efforts related to product standardization, technical processes, field feedback, and lessons learned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in BESS, renewable energy, distributed generation, electrical equipment, power systems, or hybrid energy applications
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and system-level technical documentation
Working knowledge of core BESS components and associated electrical systems, including battery modules, battery management systems, PCS/inverters, switchgear, transformers, controls, and protection systems
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across internal teams and external customer-facing environments
Ability to travel for customer meetings, site support, commissioning activities, and technical investigations as needed
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working with BESS suppliers, OEMs, EPC contractors, utilities, or renewable energy developers
Familiarity with hybrid power systems integrating battery storage with gas turbines, generators, solar, or microgrid controls
Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and compliance frameworks such as IEEE, UL, IEC, NEC, and NFPA
Experience supporting commissioning, startup, field troubleshooting, or aftersales technical support
Familiarity with EMS, SCADA, controls integration, and utility or customer interconnection requirements
Experience supporting cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, manufacturing, field service, product development, or technical support environments
EIT, FE, or PE certification is a plus, but not required
