Role Summary:
The Director of Technical Accounting & Reporting is responsible for leading the company’s technical accounting function, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and global statutory requirements, and overseeing external financial reporting. This role serves as a key advisor on complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, and partners cross-functionally with finance, legal, tax, and operations teams.
This individual will also play a critical leadership role in managing audits (including international statutory audits), implementing new accounting standards, and strengthening internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the technical accounting function, including interpretation and application of U.S. GAAP
Serve as the subject matter expert on ASC 606 revenue recognition, including contract review, policy development, and issue resolution
Manage and coordinate global statutory audits, including audits in non-U.S. jurisdictions
Partner external audit firm to ensure compliance with local GAAP and statutory reporting requirements
Draft and maintain accounting policies and technical memos for complex transactions
Lead adoption and implementation of new accounting standards
Oversee relationships with external auditors and advisors
Strengthen and maintain internal controls over financial reporting
Act as the technical specialist for ASC 842 lease standards Manage accounting for acquisitions including opening balance sheets

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and industry
Deep expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition
Significant experience managing statutory audits in multiple non-U.S. jurisdictions
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Experience interfacing directly with external auditors and executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a multinational, high-growth, or public company environment
ERP system implementations or upgrades (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
Experience supporting M&A transactions and integrations
Exposure to IFRS and local GAAP frameworks
