The Director of Information Technology & Information Systems reports to the Chief Financial Officer and holds primary accountability for the strategic direction, implementation, and ongoing governance of the Company’s IT and IS infrastructure. This role leads the organization's technology roadmap across enterprise systems, operational technology (OT) integration, cybersecurity, data management, and end-user support — ensuring that technology investments directly enable Sedron's mission to design, build, commission, and operate advanced water and waste upcycling solutions.
The Director leads a team of IT professionals and managed service relationships, work with business users to understand business needs, setting standards and priorities across both corporate and field-deployed environments. This is a high-autonomy position requiring the ability to balance long-range planning with hands-on execution in a manufacturing and field operations context.
Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:
Develop and execute a multi-year IT/IS roadmap aligned with Sedron's operational and growth objectives
Establish and enforce IT governance policies, standards, and procedures across the organization
Evaluate, recommend, and oversee adoption of new technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and security
Manage IT budgets, vendor contracts, and technology procurement decisions
Work with end-users to understand technology needs and upcoming system requirements
Oversee design, deployment, and maintenance of network, server, cloud, and end-user computing infrastructure
Ensure high availability and reliability of enterprise systems including ERP, CRM, document management, and business intelligence platforms
Lead integration efforts between corporate IT systems and operational technology (OT) environments, including PLCs, SCADA, and remote monitoring systems deployed at facilities
Manage disaster recovery, business continuity, and system backup programs
Define and maintain Sedron's cybersecurity posture, including policies, access controls, vulnerability management, and incident response procedures
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks and security requirements
Conduct or oversee regular security assessments and drive remediation of identified gaps
Oversee data architecture, governance, and integrity across enterprise and operational data systems
Support development and maintenance of data products that enable informed decision-making across the business
Establishes clear roles and accountability within the IT function as the team scales
Serve as the primary technology advisor to senior leadership and department heads
Collaborate with engineering, project delivery, and operations teams to support technology needs for capital projects and field deployments
Support compliance, legal, and HR teams with systems and data needs related to regulatory reporting and internal audits
Support development and maintenance of data products that enable informed decision-making across the business
Establishes clear roles and accountability within the IT function as the team scales
Serve as the primary technology advisor to senior leadership and department heads
Collaborate with engineering, project delivery, and operations teams to support technology needs for capital projects and field deployments
Support compliance, legal, and HR teams with systems and data needs related to regulatory reporting and internal audits

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field; Master's degree preferred
8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a director-level or equivalent role; experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial operations environment strongly preferred
Relevant certifications preferred: CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, or equivalent; certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) a plus
Demonstrated experience with enterprise infrastructure (on-premise and cloud), ERP and CRM platforms, IT/OT integration, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), data management, and managed service oversight; familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., PROFINET, Modbus, MQTT) a plus
Strong project management skills with experience leading concurrent, cross-functional technology initiatives
Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing technical teams
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data to drive decisions and measure outcomes
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, resource-conscious environment with evolving priorities
High integrity and sound judgment when handling sensitive data, systems access, and vendor relationships
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Compensation for this role is between $170,000 - $240,000 annually
This role may qualify for a discretionary bonus, recognizing outstanding contributions to team and company success
This role requires approximately 10% travel to support Sedron facilities

The range provided is Sedron’s estimate of the base compensation for this role and the final offer will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location. Compensation may be adjusted within this range to reflect regional cost-of-living differences in states where Sedron is hiring.
