Digital Search Specialist – PPC & SEO (South Africa-Based) Location: South Africa (Remote) Type: Permanent, Full-Time Working Hours: Monday to Friday, aligned to UK business hours Company: UK Digital Marketing Agency About the Role We are a growing UK-based digital marketing agency looking for an experienced Digital Search Specialist based in South Africa to join our delivery team. This is a hands-on, performance-driven role requiring strong practical experience in both PPC and SEO. You will be responsible for managing paid search campaigns while delivering ongoing organic optimisation across a portfolio of UK-based clients. This is not a single-channel position. We are looking for a true hybrid search specialist who is confident executing, optimising and improving performance across both paid and organic search. Requirements Paid Search (PPC) Build, manage and optimise Google Ads campaigns (Search essential; Display/Performance Max advantageous) Conduct structured keyword research and campaign planning Write and test ad copy to improve CTR and conversion performance Manage bids, budgets and bidding strategies to maximise ROI Monitor Quality Score, CPA, ROAS and overall campaign efficiency Implement and maintain accurate conversion tracking (Google Ads & GA4) Continuously test, refine and scale campaigns based on performance data Align paid activity with wider digital strategy and client objectives Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Deliver ongoing on-page SEO improvements across multiple websites Conduct keyword research, intent mapping and content optimisation Optimise metadata, internal linking and site structure Support technical SEO implementation in collaboration with web/development teams Monitor rankings, traffic and engagement metrics Identify growth opportunities through structured, data-led analysis Align SEO strategy with PPC insights for integrated search performance AI & Modern Search Optimisation Apply AI-influenced search principles across paid and organic channels Support optimisation for generative and answer-based search experiences Stay up to date with developments in AI-driven search and automation tools Performance & Reporting Monitor and analyse performance using GA4, Google Search Console and Google Ads Track agreed KPIs and proactively identify risks and opportunities Provide clear, actionable insights to internal stakeholders Use performance data to guide prioritisation and optimisation decisions Skills & Experience Essential Proven hands-on experience managing Google Ads campaigns Demonstrable experience delivering SEO improvements across live websites Strong working knowledge of GA4 and Google Search Console Solid understanding of keyword strategy across both paid and organic search Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Experience working in a performance-focused environment Desirable Experience working within a digital marketing agency Exposure to UK or international clients Familiarity with Performance Max and automated bidding strategies Understanding of CRO and landing page optimisation Basic understanding of technical SEO audits Personal Attributes Commercially aware and results-driven Proactive and improvement-focused Organised and accountable Comfortable working remotely within structured processes Collaborative and reliable Confident managing workload aligned to UK business hours What Success Looks Like Measurable improvements in PPC performance and ROI Increased organic visibility and qualified traffic Strong alignment between paid and organic search strategies Consistent, high-quality campaign delivery Data-led decision making and continuous optimisation
