About the Role Our client, a prominent non-profit organization in Orlando, Florida , is seeking a strategic and experienced Development Director to lead its fundraising efforts. This senior role is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure the financial resources necessary to support and expand the organization's vital programs. The Development Director will oversee all aspects of fundraising, including individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and special events. The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record in non-profit development, strong leadership and management skills, and a deep understanding of donor cultivation and stewardship. We are committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive team. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising plan to meet or exceed revenue goals. Lead and manage all fundraising activities, including major gifts, annual fund campaigns, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and foundation relations. Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, board members, corporate sponsors, and foundation representatives. Oversee the grant writing and reporting process, ensuring successful applications and compliance. Plan and execute successful fundraising events. Develop compelling fundraising appeals, proposals, and communication materials. Manage the donor database, ensuring accuracy and effective utilization for strategy development. Supervise and mentor development staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment. Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors on fundraising strategies and donor engagement. Stay informed of best practices and emerging trends in non-profit fundraising and philanthropy. Requirements Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree or CFRE certification is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising and development, with a significant portion in a leadership or management role. Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and cultivating significant donor relationships. Proven experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies and campaigns. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional persuasive ability. Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in donor management software (CRM) and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in grant writing and management. Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including board members and community leaders. A deep understanding of the Orlando community and its philanthropic landscape is preferred.
