Position Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Security Engineer to join our dynamic Security team within the Public Sector division. This is a remote position based in California, USA, offering the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud security technologies while serving government and educational institutions that make a real impact on society.
As a Customer Security Engineer in our Security organization, you will play a pivotal role in growing our cybersecurity business by building and expanding relationships with public sector customers. You will serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for our security solutions, providing expert guidance to C-level executives, security leaders, architects, and analysts to drive projects forward. Your technical expertise will be essential in helping customers discover the value of our technology and consult on the best approaches to secure their environments while ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development Support: Collaborate closely with Security Sales and arenaflex Cloud teams to identify and qualify business opportunities, thoroughly understand customer technical and compliance objections, and develop effective strategies to resolve technical blockers that impede project success.
- Solution Demonstration: Work comprehensively with all arenaflex Cloud Security products to demonstrate and validate solution benefits in customer and partner environments, showcasing the unique value proposition of our security offerings.
- Technical Relationship Management: Support arenaflex Cloud Security opportunities and relationships, own technical aspects of solutions, and deliver compelling technical presentations, product and solution briefings, proofs-of-concepts, and demonstrations to customers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Sales Enablement: Prepare and deliver impactful product messaging to highlight our solutions' value proposition using a variety of techniques including presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and response documents tailored to public sector needs.
- Customer Engagement: Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as applicable to build strong relationships, understand operational environments, and provide on-site technical support and guidance.
- Solution Architecture: Develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve customer business challenges and overcome potential technical roadblocks, ensuring optimal security posture for each organization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with product marketing management and engineering teams to stay current with industry trends, gather customer feedback, and contribute to enhancements in arenaflex Cloud products.
- Customer Success Optimization: Lead with empathy while identifying innovative ways to multiply your impact and the impact of the team as a whole, optimizing for results when customers are in production.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in security or cloud native architectures in a customer-facing role, demonstrating proven success in technical sales or customer engineering.
- Security Expertise: Hands-on experience in cybersecurity with demonstrated knowledge in areas such as threat detection, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or identity and access management systems.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of cloud native architectures and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
- Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving, communication, presentation, and active listening skills that enable effective customer engagement at all levels.
- US Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen to access Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), as required for this public sector role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a technical field related to cybersecurity or cloud computing.
- Industry Certifications: Certification in the Cloud or Security industry (such as AWS Security, Azure Security, GCP Security, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent credentials).
- Enterprise Security Implementation: Experience implementing security solutions for enterprises, including threat detection and hunting, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or identity and access management systems.
- Market Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of product and solution market trends in the cybersecurity industry, including ransomware threats, attack frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK), zero trust architecture, and emerging security paradigms.
- Public Speaking Abilities: Ability to speak publicly and deliver technical presentations to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and technical teams.
- Public Sector Experience: Familiarity with government or educational institution procurement processes, compliance requirements, and security frameworks.

Compensation and Benefits
We recognize that our team members are our most valuable asset, and we offer competitive compensation packages that reflect this commitment. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$213,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
