Work Environment and Flexibility
This position offers a unique blend of virtual flexibility with essential in-person training. Here is what you can expect:
- Virtual Work Arrangement: After completing the initial training period, this role enables associates to work virtually full-time, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and allows you to create an optimal work environment in your own home.
- In-Person Training: Please note that this position will require on-site training for the first 8 weeks at our Latham, NY office. You must have 100% attendance during the full 14 weeks of training to ensure you have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role.
- Start Date: The anticipated start date for this position is October 20, 2025.
- Work Hours: During training, hours are 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST. After training, your schedule will shift to 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM EST.

What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Customer Care Representative at arenaflex, you will be the first point of contact for our members and healthcare providers. Your mission is to guide them toward a better healthcare experience by providing accurate information, resolving concerns, and delivering exceptional service. Here is how you will make an impact:
- Proactive Problem Resolution: From the moment you log in, you will be focused on proactively resolving our members' and providers' questions and concerns using computer-based resources to find answers efficiently.
- Healthcare Guidance: You will guide members and providers with their healthcare needs by explaining benefits, solving claim concerns, and helping them find appropriate healthcare providers through telephone calls, online chats, or emails.
- Multi-Channel Support: Interact with customers through various communication channels including phone calls, email correspondence, and live chat to ensure their needs are met wherever is most convenient for them.
- Internal Partnership: Partner internally with cross-functional teams to create a seamless experience for our customers and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
- Benefits Education: Help members understand their coverage, navigate the healthcare system, and make informed decisions about their care.
- Claims Assistance: Assist members in understanding their claims, resolving billing issues, and ensuring they receive the benefits they are entitled to.
- Provider Directory Support: Guide members in finding in-network doctors, specialists, and healthcare facilities that meet their specific needs.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Education: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in an automated customer service environment is preferred; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
- Technical Skills: Ability to navigate multiple computer applications efficiently while maintaining productivity.
- Communication Skills: Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for this role.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex customer inquiries.

While not required, the following skills and experiences will help you excel in this role:
- Phone-Based Work Experience: The majority of each day will be spent on the phone. Previous experience in phone-based customer service is highly valued.
- Remote Work Setup: Ability to work from home with hard-wired internet access and a quiet, private workspace is strongly preferred.
- Empathy and Compassion: A passion for serving others with the ability to be empathetic and the desire to go above and beyond to help resolve members' questions at the first point of contact.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary Range: For candidates working in New York, the salary range for this specific position is $16.85 to $25.28 per hour. This range is based on a number of legitimate, non-discriminatory factors set by the company.
