As a Consulting Associate, Environmental Construction (DDD), you’ll play a key role in delivering high-impact remediation, demolition, decommissioning, and construction management projects for clients in the oil & gas, industrial manufacturing, and power sectors. Your work will help clients safely transform, restore, and repurpose sites, contributing directly to ERM’s mission of shaping a more sustainable future.
Responsibilities
• Support and oversee field activities to ensure safe, high-quality project execution.
• Develop bid packages, engineering cost estimates, and construction oversight plans for complex environmental and DDD projects.
• Serve as a trusted on-site leader, coordinating contractors, managing schedules, problem‑solving in real time, and ensuring seamless communication between field crews and project managers.
• Contribute technical expertise that drives successful project outcomes and builds strong, lasting client relationships.
• Plan and execute remediation, DDD, asbestos, and construction projects, including design reviews, cost opinions, work progress tracking, and schedule management.
• Lead on-site activities such as pre-construction meetings, field supervision, subcontractor coordination, and progress reporting.
• Review contractor submittals (RFIs, clarifications, required documentation, change order requests) to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Provide construction management and quality assurance on environmental and earthwork projects, including site restoration and remedial system installations.
• Serve as Field Safety Officer for investigation, remediation, and DDD projects: develop and implement site-specific Health & Safety Plans, conduct daily safety briefings, and maintain all safety records.
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during inspections or contract administration.
• Evaluate and manage subcontractor performance; negotiate and resolve change orders as needed.
• Serve as the primary liaison between field teams and the in-house Project Manager to ensure alignment with project plans, specifications, and client expectations.
• Support business development by identifying upcoming opportunities, meeting with clients, and contributing to proposals, interviews, and project contracting.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field. Or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in environmental engineering or construction management consulting.
• Experience working on construction or remediation sites (DDD experience preferred).
• Proven ability to prepare and implement work plans, support field programs, and contribute to report writing.
• Strong commitment to safety; OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER required.
• Ability to estimate, track, and manage project costs and documentation; familiarity with cost estimating tools.
• Strong communication, organizational, and client‑service skills.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and supporting field execution.
• Ability to coordinate site personnel, contractors, and vendors.
• Willingness to travel or temporarily relocate for field assignments across the U.S., as needed.
