As the Closures CPS, you will perform campaign prevent awareness sessions, conduct virtual CAD reviews at various design gateways, conduct Fresh Eyes Reviews (FER) & physical, process, system & vehicle audits at all build phases with the goal of detecting & eliminating potential campaigns. This position will lead all campaign prevent aspects for Closures function.In this position...
- Act as key Interface for Critical Concern Review Group (CCRG), Automotive Safety Office (ASO) & Office of the General Counsel (OGC) globally.
- Lead Authoring of 14Ds & Prevent Action Closure Papers - Ensure all Closures CCRG topics are captured & addressed in foundation documents & quality history.
- Lead inspection of warranty returns, analysis of competitive recalls & associated lessons learned.
- Maintain & utilize Closures Campaign Prevent Checklist.
- Act as lead for Closures stop ships, field service actions & major field quality issues.
- Plan & execute regular reviews of high leverage/criticality CLOSURES suppliers.
- Develop plans with suppliers to proactively monitor field quality.
- Upstream: Create program specific campaign prevention plans, conduct awareness sessions on a quarterly basis, schedule & lead deep dive reviews & Fresh Eyes Reviews (FER) on all forward model programs, organize sign-off for all Lessons Learned & PRAs. Conduct Deep Dive #1 & Deep Dive #2 reviews & Ensure CLOSURES Health Chart Campaign Prevent Compliance.
- Downstream: Conduct Campaign Prevent Fresh Eyes Reviews (FERs) of prototype, pre-durability, post-durability, pre-production (all major builds) & production vehicles. A Line Walk, plant process review, visual aids & part handling reviews must be conducted as part of vehicle level FERs. Conduct High Impact Supplier visits & audit DFMEAs, SCCAFS, PFMEAs, CCs & SCs, high RPN operations & control plans. Ensure proper linkages, reaction plan & right characteristics are being checked. Review EOL tester for test loads & test set up. Walk the process & perform spot audits to ensure prior issues have been adequately addressed.
- Ensure foundation documents are updated quarterly with latest campaigns, stop ships, near misses, etc.... Audit DFMEAs, PFMEAs, DVP, SCCAF to ensure all previous failure modes from campaigns & stop ships have been considered & addressed.
- Create & maintain master campaign prevention matrix with proper linkages.
- Interface with regional Closures CPSs & ensure all learnings & lessons learned have been communicated & captured.
- Conduct campaign prevention awareness sessions w/ Closures team on a quarterly basis.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in Closures design & release.
- Experience & skill in identifying issues that could lead to campaigns.
- Knowledge of quality operating systems including statistical analysis.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Ability to drive supply base & interface with supplier leadership.
- 10+ years of experience in Closures/Electromechanical system design & release.
- An aptitude for developing people & processes.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis & failure mode avoidance.
- Extensive experience & strong technical maturity working on safety critical systems & components.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders including program teams, purchasing, manufacturing, STA & suppliers.
