Overview
The Insurance Analyst will serve as a critical analytical and strategic resource within the insurance organization, acting as the central authority on insurance data, performance insights, and product intelligence. This role is responsible for translating complex insurance, claims, and portfolio data into actionable insights that drive business decisions, product evolution, and overall program profitability. The Analyst will work independently across a wide range of initiatives, including evaluating competitor products and filings, analyzing loss and claims trends, monitoring policy adoption and client behavior, and assessing catastrophe exposure. This individual will play a key role in developing a deep understanding of the business at both a portfolio and product level.
In addition to analysis, the role requires strong business acumen and the ability to influence outcomes through data-driven recommendations. The Analyst will support the development of pricing strategies, policy and contract language, and underwriting guidelines, while also ensuring internal stakeholders have access to accurate reporting, dashboards, and ROI tools. This position requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who can operate autonomously, synthesize large datasets, and communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
Analyze insurance portfolio performance including policy growth, adoption trends, churn, and conversions
Research and analyze competitor products and filings
Evaluate catastrophe exposure and projected impact
Analyze claims and loss data trends
Develop recommendations for product, pricing, and underwriting improvements
Pull and synthesize data from multiple systems
Create reporting tools, dashboards, and ROI calculators
Support development of policy language, pricing, and underwriting guidelines
Improve data capture and reporting processes
Prepare clear and actionable reports for leadership

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field
Insurance industry experience required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced Excel skills
Strong organizational ability
Detail-oriented
Ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills
Captive Insurance Knowledge is a plus

Pay Range
USD $85,200.00 - USD $145,200.00 /Yr.
